William R. Noyes, MD, MBA

From a medical perspective, Dr. Noyes has found that the challenges and complexities of cancer have made radiation oncology a fulfilling and demanding specialty. And, because of the profound effect the cancer experience has on a patients and their families, he is constantly challenged on a human level as well.

With both aspects in mind, Dr. Noyes makes certain that all patients understand their condition and the treatment plan taking an educational approach that unites patients with the CCND healthcare team in the fight against cancer. The spirit of teamwork extends to the patients’ family, to whom Dr. Noyes also offers comfort and shares information. As Grand Forks’ only board certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Noyes offers a level of care and experience that work together to provide each patient unmatched peace-of-mind.

Dr. Noyes is a graduate of the University of North Dakota’s School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Gunderson Clinic in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and spent four years in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinic, Madison. He returned to Grand Forks where he practiced at Altru Health Systems until going into private practice in 2004. His clinical experience includes: IMRT, 3D conformal radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, brachytherapy, coronary brachytherapy, prostate brachytherapy, HDR brachytherapy and the use of various radioactive isotopes. He is active in ASTRO where he serves as vice chair of health care economics, ACRO, ABS and the North Dakota State Medical Society. He is the past recipient of the ASTRO Research Fellowship and RSNA Research Resident Award. In addition, Dr. Noyes earned his M.B.A. in 2003 from St. Thomas University, Minneapolis.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Noyes spends time with his wife, and their two daughters, and also reads, travels, and enjoys music. As well, he devotes additional time to medicine through continual research and work to improve the healthcare process.
