Medical Oncology RNJoy earned her bachelor-of-science degree in nursing from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and has been an oncology-certified nurse since 1991. She comes to CCND after working for 17 years at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Joy is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and is the president-elect of the Red River Valley Oncology Nursing Society.

Joy works closely with our physicians in cancer treatment and also provides direct patient care, which includes administering chemotherapy and supportive care medications and offering patient education and support. Her role in the treatment process ensures that patients and their individual needs always come first-her constant support makes an otherwise overwhelming experience more manageable.

After nearly two decades of oncology nursing experience, Joy has terrific enthusiasm and true passion for what she does. She is grateful for the huge impact patients she has met have had on her life and says that knowing these patients is precisely the reason she loves oncology.
